'Bout sums it up....

The voters will now have to settle for 2nd best on the GOP side as there is no way that anyone could want a 2nd term for the Fool who presently occupies the White House. The issue is that SLICK MITT is NOT the best person for the job either - He is what we will be stuck with as the election in 2012 will come down to choosing the "lesser of two crappy choices" not electing the best person for the job.

And that is NOT how we should choose a President.

Born to RUN...New Jersey's GOV looks like the man for the job...

Never say never......Looking at the GOP line-up, it is no wonder that Americans are looking closely at NJ Governor Chris Christie.... Born to Run is not just a line for Bruce Springsteen...

Slick Mitt and Gov. Perry look like fumbling idjits next to the straight talker from New Jersey.

We need to knock out the Fool who presently resides at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, (to quote Top Gear), " How hard can it be ??"

We need the BEST person, not the one who has raised the most $$$.

Christie: Face 'difficult truths'
MAGGIE HABERMAN / Politico.com

Here's Juana Summers' story on Chris Christie's Reagan Library speech, with a theme of "real American exceptionalism" that rapped political leaders adrift and singled out President Obama for criticism:

American exceptionalism, as Christie defined it, is a “vision followed by a set of principled actions that made us the envy of the world,” not a political punch-line.

“Not a re-election strategy, but an American revitalization strategy,” he called it.

During his remarks – interrupted numerous times by applause – Christie delivered several characteristically tough lines, including saying America must not become “a country that places comfortable lies ahead of difficult truths,” that showed the kind of swagger that’s defined his persona and won the hearts of the people who are desperate to see him come off the sidelines of the campaign.

Obama, Christie said comparing his approach now to the then-Illinois state Senator’s address to the 2004 Democratic National Convention, is willing to divide the country to win re-election.

“This is not a leadership style, this is a reelection strategy,” Christie said of Obama’s actions in the Oval Office. “Telling those who are scared and struggling that the only way their lives can get better is to diminish the success of others….That may turn out to be a good re-election strategy for President Obama, but is a demoralizing message for America. What happened to state Sen. Obama? When did he decide to become one of the ‘dividers’ he spoke of so eloquently in 2004?”

Christie decried a Washington that isn’t working, saying Congress is “at war with itself because they are unwilling to leave campaign-style politics at the Capitol’s door” and said the nation’s capitol drifts from “conflict to conflict with little resolution.”

And if domestic issues suffer, the world’s opinion of America is damaged, Christie said.

“Without strong leadership at home, without our domestic house in order, we are taking ourselves out of the equation,” he said. “Over and over, we are allowing the rest of the world to set the tone without American influence because of our failings.”

To some extent, it was a version his American Enterprise Institute speech from March writ global. But it was also not ideologically specific.

He seemed to laud Bowles-Simpson, for instance, in terms of fiscal issues. But in the portion of his speech that dealt with foreign policy, he moved away from the neocon hawkish position and sounded closer to the one espoused most loudly in the GOP field by Jon Huntsman, in terms of not fighting the world's fights.

It highlights why Christie appeals to conservative elites and some major donors. But it is also a reminder that he would face some of the same challenges as any other candidate in this hard-right moment in the Republican party in a national race.

At the same time, it underscores what those who want Christie to run find appealing - a straight message, and one that's not ideologically based.

ROGER THAT !

FOLLOW THE MONEY - Looks like more people want an investigation on SLICK MITT ROMNEY & his financial shenanigans

The manner in which SLICK MITT and his minions are behaving would make even the sleaziest politician wince. These guys are neck deep in muck and act like there is no issue with the shell game that is going on. Trying to gin up as much money as possible for SLICK MITT as he feels in that manner he can buy the Presidency.....what a putz.

OBAMA is no better as he has been spending more time at fundraisers than working on fixing the country's economy.

We NEED BETTER candidates for the Presidency than SLICK MITT and the Empty Suit who is the White House now. Please Mr. & Mrs. American Voter - throw both of these empty-headed dunces under the bus, for the sake of our country and to show for once and for all that the Presidency of the United States is not about $$$ but getting the BEST person for the job.

Justice asked to probe mystery donation to pro-Romney group
Reform groups say $1 million from firm that soon dissolved itself could violate law

NBC News

Two campaign reform groups are asking the Justice Department to investigate a mysterious $1 million contribution to a political committee backing Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney from an obscure company that shut down shortly after making the donation.

The contribution to Restore Our Future, a so-called “super PAC” formed by three former Romney political aides, drew scrutiny following an NBC News report on Thursday . The firm that gave the money, called W Spann LLC, was formed in March – with no listed officers or directors — made the contribution in April, then dissolved itself in July, according to corporate records.

Fred Wertheimer, the president of Democracy 21, an advocacy group for campaign reform, said the contribution appeared to be “blatantly” designed to circumvent campaign disclosure laws. He said Democracy 21 and the Campaign Legal Center, another advocacy group that promotes greater transparency in election laws, will formally request an investigation into the donation on Friday.

“The apparent effort to keep secret the actual donor or donors of the $1 million may well be a violation of the campaign finance laws and this matter should be investigated by the Federal Election Commission and the Justice Department,” he said in a statement. .

The Justice Department and the Federal Election Commission both declined comment Thursday.

Charlies Spies, the treasurer of Restore Our Future, said the group would have no further comment beyond its previous statement to NBC News that the pro-Romney committee “has fully complied with all FEC regulations, including publicly disclosing donors on our July 31 report.”

It is illegal under federal law for political donors to make contributions in the name of another person – so called “straw donors” -- and such violations have been vigorously prosecuted by the Justice Department in the past, according to campaign finance experts.

But the federal campaign laws have been made increasingly murky as a result of the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision last year, which allowed corporations to spend unlimited amounts on political advocacy. That, in turn, enabled “super PACs” like Restore Our Future – and similar groups on the Democratic side -- to collect millions of dollars from companies and wealthy donors.

Wertheimer said the W Spann contribution “appears to be a straw donor transaction” because the real donor or donors were using a hastily created company to make the political contribution while hiding their identities. The argument could hinge, some campaign finance experts said, on whether W Spann LLC had any other business purpose – or was created solely for the purpose of donating the money to Restore Our Future.

Corporate records show that the person who registered the company in Delaware was Cameron Casey, an associate with the venerable Boston law firm of Ropes & Gray, who specializes in estate tax planning for “high net worth individuals.”

A Democratic political advocacy group, American Bridge, emailed a memo to reporters Thursday pointing out multiple connections between Romney and the law firm, including the fact that Ropes & Gray represented him in a challenge to his residency status when he first ran for governor of Massachusetts in 2002 and that one of the firm’s partners, R. Bradford Malt, was trustee of Romney’s blind trust when he ran for president in 2008.

The law firm has also represented Bain Capital, the investment firm once headed by Romney. Bain Capital is one of a number of blue chip firms located at 590 Madison Ave. in New York, the midtown Manhattan office building that W Spann LLC listed as its address in the campaign report filed last week by Restore Our Future.

A spokesman for Bain denied that anybody at the firm was involved in W Spann LLC. A spokesman for Ropes & Gray did not respond to request for comment from NBC News on Thursday.

SLICK MITT ROMNEY anoints himself the GOP Nominee w/o a single vote being cast.....REALLY ???? Hey MITT ! Get over yourself.

Without a single vote cast or counted, SLICK MITT ROMNEY has already anointed himself the Republican Nominee and has started to act like the White House is his for the taking.

Don't get me wrong, I admire "ego strength" in a capable and well disciplined candidate but are you F&%king kidding me? DUDE, catch a clue, you can't just decide for yourself that based on polls more than 5 months out that you can appoint yourself the nominee.....This is one more in a long line of bizarre behaviors that shows why we don't need this feckless POL anymore than we need the empty suit that is in the White House.

The PRESIDENCY of the UNITED STATES requires the best person, the most qualified, the soundest of judgments, and someone who makes others feel like they are being listened to. Mitt Romney only hears the sound of his own voice, just like the delusional fool we have as President right now. WHY in God's sake would we elect a Republican version of the same thing we have now ??

We have to let the process work itself through the primaries and let the PEOPLE have a say on who they want to run against Obama, not decide it based on who has the most $$$$ and can get an early lead established by pandering to well heeled lobbyists.

We should reject the stupidity of anyone who acts like SLICK MITT as it is not the sign of leadership but of self delusion. We have one delusional lightweight in the White House - The last thing we need is Slick Mitt and Mrs. Slick Mitt for 4 years after we kick out the "Lecturer in Chief" and his Cow of a wife. Really, I am begging you....Let's return the decision power to the people where it belongs.

Mitt Romney's Measuring His White House Drapes
Elspeth Reeve Jul 27, 2011 - The Atlantic

Mitt Romney told donors in Virginia Beach Tuesday night that three guys are on his short list for vice president: Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, Bearing Drift reports. Aside from the amusing thought of the Tea Partying Rubio being No. 2 for Romney--whose state's overhaul was a model for President Obama's--the list feels like one more instance of Romney counting his chickens before they're hatched, NBC News' First Read observes--"he’s acting like someone who’s already wrapped up the GOP nomination, or even the White House."

Romney told New Hampshire voters that he'd be back in four years--with Secret Service in tow. As he did Tuesday night, he's visiting swing states that don't have early primary elections--Pennsylvania, California, and Virginia. Politico's Alexander Burns reports he'll be hitting Obama on jobs in Ohio on Wednesday, after securing the endorsement of former Sen. George Voinovich and more than a dozen state Republicans. First Read writes,
"Romney is starting to resemble a gambler who's up $500 at the blackjack table and is already counting the ways he's going to spend his earnings--but before he walks away from the table."

.... The New York Times' Nate Silver should give him pause. When poll numbers are adjusted for name recognition--how many of the respondents have actually heard of the guy--Romney is merely a co-frontrunner with still-undeclared Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

An average of the seven most recent polls of Republican voters ... finds Mr. Romney with the lead, with an average of 22 percent of the vote. After that, there's essentially a four-way tie between Ms. Bachmann (13 percent), Sarah Palin (13 percent), Mr. Perry (12 percent) and Rudolph W. Giuliani (11 percent in the polls in which he is included). ...

The results tighten up a bit, however, once we adjust for name recognition based on the latest Gallup numbers. (Dividing a candidate's polling average by his name recognition can somewhat improve the predictive power of early-stage polls.) In particular, Mr. Perry is recognized by only slightly more than half of Republican voters. Of those who recognize his name, 21 percent list him as their first choice, just slightly behind Mr. Romney at 25 percent.

Perry hasn't yet had to endure the scrutiny that comes after a politician officially declares his candidacy--look at what happened to Newt Gingrich and Jon Huntsman, for example. Still, Silver writes, if Perry's "roll-out goes well... the Republican campaign could well develop into a heavyweight battle between the two rather than the Lord-of-the-Flies scenario that had seemed more likely before."

FOLLOW THE MONEY.....SLICK MITT gets donations from lobbyist/"foreclosure mill" operator.

History has a way of repeating itself....back in the early 1970s, a pair of reporters were given a lesson in how to find out succinctly where the BS was coming from in any political organization....

Deep Throat: Follow the money.
Bob Woodward: What do you mean? Where?
Deep Throat: Oh, I can't tell you that.
Bob Woodward: But you could tell me that.
Deep Throat: No, I have to do this my way. You tell me what you know, and I'll confirm. I'll keep you in the right direction if I can, but that's all. Just... follow the money.

It's as simple as that. If you follow the money, you'll find out all the things that cause politics in our country to be screwed up.

Looks like history is repeating itself as the Presidential Race of 2012 is not being based on who is best qualified for the job, but rather, who can raise the most money.

The big question then becomes, " WHO is giving the Candidates the money and what does that mean if the Candidate in question gets elected??"

WELL presently the two biggest FOOLS in the race (Obama & Romney) are the ones collecting the largest donations from people who we really DON'T want to have access to the WHITE HOUSE.....example in point regarding SLICK MITT Romney...

Ask yourself this question, " Would I buy a used car from this man??" - If the answer is NO, then why would you trust him to run our Country ???

Romney fund-raiser lobbied for foreclosure firm
Fiorentino brought in $102,900
By Matt Viser
Globe Staff / July 19, 2011

WASHINGTON - Mitt Romney has spent time on the campaign trail railing against high foreclosure rates, traveling earlier this year to one of the country’s foreclosure capitals, North Las Vegas, to bring the point home.

But as he has built his fund-raising machine, he has relied heavily on a man who has lobbied Congress on mortgage reform and antipredatory lending legislation that contained strict rules aimed at preventing another subprime mortgage collapse.

T. Martin Fiorentino Jr., who raised $102,900 for Romney, lobbied on the legislation on behalf of Lender Processing Services, a so-called “foreclosure mill’’ that was reprimanded in April by the government for “unsound practices related to residential mortgage loan serving and foreclosure processing.’’

In the world of political fund-raising, Fiorentino is known as a “bundler,’’ someone who solicits contributions for a candidate and brings them to a candidate’s campaign - in this case Romney’s - in one lump sum.

Romney has not released a complete list of his campaign’s bundlers.

But an ethics law passed in 2007 requires candidates to disclose any registered lobbyist who raises at least $16,000 for a candidate. Romney’s latest campaign finance report, filed on Friday, lists six lobbyist-bundlers who combined raised nearly $520,000 out of the $18.4 million Romney brought in over three months.

Of the lobbyists, Fiorentino raised the second largest amount, trailing only Patrick J. Durkin Sr., a managing director at Barclay’s Capital, who raised $167,800 for Romney.

The other lobbyists who are bundling money for Romney are Wayne Berman, a major GOP lobbyist at Ogilvy Government Relations whose clients include top oil and gas companies; David Beightol, a managing principal at Dutko Worldwide, a GOP lobbying firm that is run by longtime Romney adviser Ron Kaufman; Drew K. Maloney, a former staffer for then-majority whip Tom DeLay who is now at Ogilvy; and Judi A. Rhines, who cofounded the Rath Group, which is based in New Hampshire and is run by Romney adviser Tom Rath.

Fiorentino’s office referred requests for comment to the Romney campaign, which released a brief statement that did not address his role or whether it would release a more complete list of bundlers.

“We disclose all of the information about our donors as required by law and anyone who is interested can review it publicly,’’ said campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul.

President Obama’s campaign on Friday voluntarily released its list of nearly 250 big-dollar bundlers, and challenged Romney and others to do the same.

The Obama campaign does not accept donations from registered lobbyists.

The only other Republican candidate who filed a lobbyist bundler report was Tim Pawlenty. The former Minnesota governor reported one lobbyist: James E. Hyland, who founded the Pennsylvania Avenue Group, raised $17,610 for his campaign.

Fiorentino’s Jacksonville, Fla.-based firm, the Fiorentino Group, has been paid $180,000 by Lender Processing Services since late 2009, according to lobbying disclosure forms. The firm lobbied the House and Senate on the Mortgage Reform and Anti-Predatory Lending Act.

The legislation, which was sponsored by Democrats, came in response to the subprime mortgage crisis and was meant to prevent lenders from making loans that borrowers would have difficulty repaying. It was approved by the House in May 2009, but wasn’t taken up that year by the Senate.

Much of the legislation ended up being included last year in the Dodd-Frank Act, a larger overhaul of national financial regulations.

Lender Processing Services is one of the country’s largest mortgage service providers, claiming to handle more than half of all foreclosures and providing services for more than 1,000 financial institutions. The company came under scrutiny after admitting last year that one of its subsidiaries, DocX, had been improperly preparing some of the foreclosure documents.

Fiorentino’s firm was listed as the company’s lobbyist on its most recent congressional lobbying disclosure form, filed in April.

On the campaign trail, Romney has sought to highlight the high foreclosure rate to critique President Obama’s handling of the economy. Several months ago, he traveled to North Las Vegas to meet with homeowners in a neighborhood beset by foreclosed-upon homes.

At the time, he didn’t address the crisis head-on, or propose any specific plan or legislation. Instead, he said, if more jobs were created, foreclosed homes would be repaired and property values would increase. But he largely criticized government intervention.

“The best thing you can do for this community is not to come here and give checks, to go around and give everybody a check. That doesn’t solve the problem,’’ he said. “The right thing you can do is to create jobs, and to make the environment of America the best in the world for job growth, for investment, and for the economic vitality we deserve.’’

A PAIR OF FECKLESS IDIOTS - SLICK MITT ROMNEY & NO-DRAMA OBAMA

We have suffered for the last 2 1/2 years under a socially awkward idiot who sat in the White House and said things like, " They talk about me like a dog..", " I need to know whose ass to kick.", " Time to eat your peas..." and about a 100 other equally moronic statements that have come from this Harvard educated fool...

What we REALLY don't need is another one....The GOP has to stop trying to prop up SLICK MITT Romney as he comes off just as foolish and clueless as Obama. Neither of them should be in the Oval Office and neither of them have the right LEADERSHIP to be COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF as both of them have ZERO experience in the military.

Stop the madness and let's get a genuine LEADER in the Oval Office.....enough with propping up these " empty suits ' just because they can raise a $100 Million dollars from other clueless fools who give them the money to buy access. The United States needs LEADERSHIP, not the feckless hucksters like Romney and/or Obama. Really.

Mitt Romney’s on red-faced run
By Dave Wedge and Katy Jordan - Boston Herald
Friday, July 15, 2011

He’s admired for his perfect hair and polished style. It’s when Mitt Romney tries to be a regular guy that he runs into trouble.

The former Bay State governor and multimillionaire has made a string of quirky campaign missteps that have pundits questioning his ability to relate to the common voter. Some have even dubbed him an “awkward” candidate struggling with an identity crisis as his latest bid for the Oval Office kicks into high gear.

From pretending a waitress pinched his behind in New Hampshire, to cracking jokes about being “unemployed,” to pulling out a $100 bill in a Colorado restaurant, Romney has raised eyebrows with a series of stumbles as he stumps in the harsh glare of the national spotlight.

“I think more is expected of Romney because he’s done this once before,” said Carrie Giddins, a politics professor at George Washington University. “Romney’s struggle has been to be relatable. He’s trying to be the guy you can go have a beer with, but he’s struggled and been unable to get over those awkward moments.”

The media hasn’t been kind. The Wall Street Journal recently referred to his “aw shucks, cornball humor,” and the Washington Post wrote of his “weirdness,” describing his demeanor as “equal parts ‘Leave It to Beaver’ corniness and social awkwardness.”

In New Hampshire yesterday, Romney declined to acknowledge any recent missteps, smiling and shutting his car door, saying “Thanks guys!” when a reporter asked about his campaign trail foibles.
Some pundits said the criticism has increased because Romney leads most polls for the GOP presidential nomination.

“What’s really happening is the scrutiny is getting more intense on Mitt because he’s clearly the front-runner,” said Republican consultant Rick Wilson. “He’s the guy that seems to perform best against Obama.”

“His every move is being watched,” Giddins added.

Indeed, Romney has come under fire on a nearly daily basis from national Democrats as well as in New Hampshire, where the former governor has long had a summer home.

“He’s trying to pitch himself as something he’s clearly not,” said Holly Shulman of the New Hampshire Democratic Party. “Mitt Romney’s awkwardness on the campaign trail is perhaps not just because he fails to connect with voters and what they are going through in their daily lives, but because he knows deep down that what he is selling about his record on jobs and the economy just isn’t true.”

In Portsmouth, N.H., yesterday, Romney riffed off President Obama’s deficit-cutting admonishment last week that Americans must “eat our peas.”

“I ate a full plate of peas. I ate my peas,” Romney told supporters.

Romney’s quirky moments highlight the trouble that rich, well-heeled politicians sometimes have connecting with regular voters. Fellow Bay State multimillionaire U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry was painted as out of touch for dodging taxes on his luxury yacht last year, and drew mockery in 2004 for asking an Iowa clerk, “Can I get me a hunting license here?” He also offended military families with his 2006 “botched joke,” when he told college students to stay in school or they’d “get stuck in Iraq.”

But Wilson called Romney’s recent gaffes “minor” and said there has yet to be a defining moment for the presidential hopeful. “These aren’t egregious sins. I think most of this is just silly season stuff,” he said

SLICK MITT ROMNEY gets some help with Economics 101 from the Manchester Union Leader

The Manchester Union Leader, the Conservative Newspaper of record in the fair state of New Hampshire tries to help Slick Mitt Romney out.....sorta.

One would think that a guy who claims to be an "economic expert" could figure this kinda thing out on his own......Ouch !

Stimu-less: What Romney should've said
EDITORIAL - Manchester Union Leader
Published Jul 6, 2011

Mitt Romney is being criticized for saying that President Obama’s policies have made the economy worse. They have, but Romney uses the wrong words.

Romney first said Obama made the recession worse. Officially the recession ended in the third quarter of 2009. Lately, Romney said that Obama’s policies have made U.S. economic growth “anemic.” Since the recovery began, GDP growth has averaged 2.8 percent a quarter. Growth could and should be better, and what there is cannot all be attributed to Obama’s policies, but it’s hard to call it “anemic.”

What Romney should say is this: Yes, we have had GDP growth since the third quarter of 2009, and some of that is because of federal stimulus spending. But if the economy is doing so great, why has unemployment risen from 7.6 percent in January of 2009 to 9.1 percent? It’s because the stimulus created a growth mirage, and business owners can see it, so they aren’t hiring.

As Fortune magazine editor Shawn Tully wrote of Obama’s stimulus plan last September, “By basic economic math, it’s impossible to raise GDP by borrowing from one group of people who would otherwise save that money, and transferring it to another group of people, and to the government, to spend. Savings, in the short term, have precisely the same impact on national income as spending.

“The reason couldn’t be simpler: All savings are spent. Let’s look at the big picture. GDP measures all spending on all the goods and services that America produces. Savings translate, dollar for dollar, into a major component of that total spending: investment. All the money that the administration successfully moves from savings to consumption simply channels one type of spending to another, in precisely offsetting amounts. It’s like filling a swimming pool from one end, and draining it from the other end. The level doesn’t change.”

The administration released its latest stimulus report on Friday before the July 4 weekend. Why? Because it showed that Washington spent somewhere between $185,000 and $250,000 per stimulus job created. And as that stimulus spending has slowed, so has the economy. Now we are deeper in debt, with higher unemployment, and an economy that is contracting. Obama bought temporary growth at an extremely high price, spiked the unemployment rate, put us deeper into debt, and ignored alternatives that could have provided more stable long-term growth without the massive debt and with more jobs. So yes, he made the overall economic situation worse than it would have been were an economically literate President in charge.

Why Romney, who prides himself on his economic acumen, cannot find a way to say that is a mystery.

POV from the International Business Times - " Mitt “Flip-Flop” Romney is Creepy"

One of the biggest issues with our present President is that he has acted like a class "A" Chump overseas....His world apology tour and a weak-kneed approach to issues only emboldened our rivals. He and his shrew of a wife mucked up the protocol when meeting the Royals in England and don't even start me with his going to Ireland to claim he is "going home" - What horseshite. If he is " Irish ", then I'm Jack Kennedy.

Now, we get to see that the International Business Times has published their POV on SLICK MITT Romney, the serial flip-flopper. Romney comes off as "say anything to get elected" to voters and will only further damage the image of American Leadership overseas. His dodginess about why he didn't serve in the military while all others his age went to Vietnam smacks of being a Chicken Hawk....We need a LEADER, not a desperate, say-anything-to-get-elected POL.

If reading this doesn't cause you to have an involuntary shiver of revulsion, I would be surprised.....The word the author uses is " creepy "...looks like he nailed it.

Mitt “Flip-Flop” Romney is Creepy
By Joe Romaine - International Business Times.

Mitt Romney is the king of flip-flops. He does it so much that it’s almost pathological.

He not only flip-flops on political positions, but he also manages to do it on a personal level.

For Romney, the usual excuses of “times change,” “gotcha” moments, and “you’re taking it out of context” just don’t cut it.

Some people think Romney flip-flops all the time to curry political favor. They think that behind his George Clooney smile, perfect family, and impressive business record hides his raw and naked political ambition.

Indeed, Romney is the “résumé president” (except for his Mormon faith). He’s got everything you want in a candidate but something just seems off and voters sense it. He goes through the motions, does everything right, but can’t seem to connect with people.

And why is he running anyway? The love of his country? To right social wrongs he saw in his childhood? A sense of destiny from God? Or just raw political ambition, as many suspect.

Of course, we’ll know for sure if Romney is really just a ball of naked ambition masked with a perfect façade. If he is, he’ll never admit it.

Still, Romney’s robotic awkwardness and serial flip-flopping is just creepy, regardless of why he is that way.

Below are 10 classic Romney flip-flops. The list was chosen from
mittromneyflipflops.com

(which also contains the sources for the quotes).

'I saw my father march with Martin Luther King.'

'I did not see it with my own eyes.'

'I respect and will protect a woman's right to choose.'

'I never really called myself pro-choice.'

'I believe the tax on capital gains should be zero.'

'It's a tax cut for fat cats.'

'I like mandates. The mandates work.'

'I think it's unconstitutional on the 10th Amendment front.'

'It was not my desire to go off and serve in Vietnam.'

'I longed in many respects to actually be in Vietnam and be representing our country there.'

'I would like to have campaign spending limits.'

'The American people should be free to advocate for their candidates and their positions without burdensome limitations.'

'I don't line up with the NRA.'

'I'm a member of the [NRA].'

(Romney also claimed NRA endorsement he never received)

'I'm not in favor of privatizing Social Security or making cuts.'

'Social Security's the easiest and that's because you can give people a personal account.'

'Roe v. Wade has gone too far.'

'I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years we should sustain and support it.'

'I'm a strong believer in stating your position and not wavering.'

'I changed my position.'

SLICK MITT ROMNEY UPDATE - ROMNEY wants to spend up to $3 MIL of Utah's Tax $$$ to rig the primary system in his favor

SLICK MITT ROMNEY UPDATE

Looks like the editorial board of the Salt Lake Tribune sees right through the "shallow as piss on a flat rock" move by ROMNEY to gin up the primary system by trying to move the UTAH Primary at an estimated cost of $2.5 million to $3 million to Utah Taxpayers.

Well, after all, that is the little people's money and why should we care about wasting that??? There's plenty of where that came from after all. We'll just make them pay more...

Is this REALLY what you want to see? Another stuffed shirt with delusions of grandeur, preaching cost cutting to you out of one side of his mouth, while WASTING tax dollars to try & rig the primary system in his own favor.

We have been living under a " DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO " President for the past 2 1/2 years, the last thing we need is another.

To the citizens of UTAH, Tell SLICK MITT to take a flying leap into the Salt Lake as otherwise, he'll be hosing you down for a few million tax dollars that I would suspect are sorely needed elsewhere.

Don’t move primary

Editorial / Salt Lake Tribune

If individual Utah residents want to write a check to support the presidential campaign of Republican Mitt Romney, there is nothing to stop them.

But if Romney backers want the whole body of Utah taxpayers to cough up as much as $3 million to hold an early 2012 primary election, one that would serve no purpose other than to make Romney look good for about a third of the next 24-hour news cycle, that’s asking way too much.

Romney is said to be leaning on his many supporters in Utah political circles — prime among them Lt. Gov. Greg Bell, whose portfolio includes supervising the state’s elections — to move up the state’s presidential primary from late June to sometime in early spring.

The acceptable reason for such a move, which would require an act of the Legislature, would be to make Utah more of a player in the nominating process by drawing the attention of all of the candidates at a point when it still matters.

But the real reason for such a shift would be so Romney could maximize his standing as the favorite candidate of Utah Republican voters and embarrass one of his chief rivals, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman. Polls show that Romney now outpolls Huntsman among Utah Republicans by a margin of more than 2-1.

Bearding the lion in his own den, which is how Romney would spin a Utah primary victory over Huntsman, would clearly be of more value to Romney if it happened in early March, when the nomination will likely still be up for grabs, rather than June 26, when one, or both, of the candidates with Utah links may already have been eliminated.

Now the state’s presidential primary is set for the same day as the primaries for those seeking state office. It’s a lot cheaper that way. Estimates for having a separate election just for the presidential hopefuls run from $2.5 million to $3 million.

That is money that would be hard to find, and harder to justify, in such tight fiscal times.

It is also doubtful that it would really boost Utah’s profile that much. Other GOP hopefuls would be unlikely to spend much time or money here, knowing that they’d be all but lost in the Mitt vs. Jon tug o’ war.

It’s too late now. But anyone who really wanted to make Utah a destination for presidential candidates would have long ago gotten behind a plan from four years ago to unite with New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Nevada and Colorado for a real Western States Primary. That would truly offer candidates a trove of delegates worth pursuing.

Of course, that was Jon Huntsman’s idea.

QUOTES & NOTES from the 2012 campaign trail....Heaven Help us....

QUOTES AND NOTES from the 2012 Presidential Campaign Trail....

I wanted to share the enclosed as I thought it would be nice to see what people are saying out there on the campaign trail....and I'll interject some commentary after each quote - The opinions expressed here are mine and based solely on trying to interject some "common sense" into what these idjits are saying...

"
I know you have been seeing a lot of politicians around lately. Something tells me that you may see a few more before February is over. But Iowa, you and I, we go a long way back," Obama told workers at an Alcoa factory here.

Obama reminded the state that it helped make him President. "So we've got some history together, and together we're going to make some more history for years to come," he said.

YEAH, THANKS FOR NOTHING IOWA...." - Hopefully, Iowa will be on the list of places where the President will see that after 2 1/2 years, people are pretty tired of listening to his lies.

"We cannot afford four more years of millions of Americans who are out of work and are not making enough in wages to support a family ... We cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama," Michele Bachmann, a conservative member of the House of Representatives said in Iowa on Monday. - Yes, thank you Rep. Bachmann....please make sure you check on the facts around any future statements you make as you need another gaffed-up speech like we need 4 more years of President Doofus. We need less gaffes, not more.

"Oh, Iowa matters, every state in the union, of course, always matters," she said in an interview with Iowa Tea Party Chairman Ryan Rhodes. "Iowa matters because people are really tuned in here to what is necessary (and) … what is needed to do to grow a smaller, smarter government." Sarah Palin - That was "Palinese" for still playing hard to get.....get back to us when you have some idea what you are talking about as we have no real idea what you are speaking about either.

Gov. Chris Christie told CNN recently that he's "100% sure" that he doesn't want to run for president next year and even said "forget it" Sunday on NBC to the idea of being the vice presidential pick for the GOP nominee.- We understand why Gov. Christie wants to focus on NJ first and will look at national office later...we'll wait. He looks like he is worth waiting for.

"These things happen over and over. They fascinate the media. They have no long term historic meaning. Either there will be a message that resonates with 14 million unemployed. There will be a message that resonates when one out of every four houses is worth less than its mortgage. There will be a message that resonates when there are three wars and no strategic coherence in the administration, or there won't be. If there is, I'll be a contender in January." Newt Ginrich - Newt, Newt, Newt....you and the Mrs. must have really been hitting the Ouzo out there in the Greek Isles as you still sound/act like you are so drunk you actually believe that you have a snowballs chance in HELL of getting elected anything, let alone President.

And finally, we have the "SLICK MITT ROMNEY UPDATE"....seems like "buying" the GOP nomination ain't enough for Slick Mitt, he wants to GIN UP the primaries in his favor, even if that costs the people extra money as, " Why not, isn't that what taxes are for ??"

What a piece of work.....Please MITT, just go away and take your desperate, pandering attitude with you.

Moving the UTAH primary to the second Tuesday in March from June could help Mr. Romney—who has strong ties to the state—by giving him a victory early in the Republican nominating process. But changing the date would mean holding the presidential primary separately from previously scheduled primaries for other offices, and the shift would require approval by the Legislature and the governor.

Lt. Gov. Greg Bell, who runs state elections, said an aide to Mr. Romney called him in April to pitch the idea of moving the primary, which Mr. Bell said he supported anyway. The aide told Mr. Bell an earlier primary would benefit everyone, including the people of Utah and Mr. Romney, a spokesman for Mr. Bell said. .....UTAH lawmakers will decide if the expense is warranted.

Yeah, it's only the people's money.....what does it matter if it is wasted so SLICK MITT can game the system. What a feckless, self centered POL.

The Search for the " Anti-Romney"...Is Rep. Michelle Bachmann the answer the GOP is looking for???

Type in " Anti Obama" into Google and you will get "About 209,000,000 results" - That number almost looks too small based on the people who have issues with the President. No big surprise that people have issues with POTUS

Go to Google and type in the words " Anti Romney " - you will get "About 11,500,000 results" - I wonder why that many hits register about ROMNEY?

Here's the main issues as I see it. He has been trying to get to the Presidency since he first was elected Governor of Massachusetts. He used Masschusetts as a "stepping stone" as he was an absentee Governor for the last two years of his term, spending the majority of that time away from Massachusetts trying to raise cash and national credentials which got him nowhere when he ran for the Presidency in 2008. People saw through his flip-flopping and pandering ways. He would say anything and seemed terribly DESPERATE....He still does as he has this, " C'Mon, it's my turn" attitude about running for the GOP nomination....ugh. The fact that he has more money than anyone else reeks of an attitude that he can buy his way into the Presidency.

Now, we are in 2012, and " Slick MITT " is back at it again. I fail to understand why he didn't get the message last time. The GOP cannot keep running on being the " Old Rich Guys Party". The younger voters were the ones who propelled Obama into office along with the independent voters who swing the key middle.

The GOP will need someone who can energize these key voting blocks, something new that allows them to get people's attention. Pawlenty, Hunstman, Rick Perry, etc. all reek of the same bland politician model that has been the hallmark of the GOP.

So we go back to the central issue, who will be out there for the GOP against Obama ?

The choices have not been stirring up much interest until recently. For reasons that defy political reason, Rep. Michelle Bachman has been gaining some serious traction.

She's the Tea Party's Belladonna and that has ensured that the press painted her as a lightweight until now when polling has shown here breaking out and going neck & neck with Slick Mitt in Iowa. She did well in the NH debate and was the other candidate who got a significant reaction from potential NH voters.

Is she to be taken serious??? She has been a gaffe prone as Romney but when you think about it, the GOP would shake up the electoral game by throwing a female candidate at our first minority President running for re-election.

Politics has a funny way of defying the "knowns" and heading off in unexpected directions. In the search for the Anti-Romney, it may be that Ms. Bachmann is the very thing the GOP needs. She's not Palin either as Ms. Palin has high negatives.

Would Ms. Bachmann make a good President ?? That will be the question that will drive the campaign to nomination or runner-up status for the nomination. All I Know is that right now, SLICK MITT seems like " more of the same" from the GOP. That is a recipe for disaster and a sure lock for re-election of the "Empty Suit" from Chicago....something no one needs.

Bachmann on 'Face the Nation': Two Signs She is Serious
By James Fallows Jun 26 2011 - The Atlantic

The two takeaways from this morning's show (via notes written 12+ hours ago -- have been in transit in the interim):

1) She looks so much better than she used to. Compare her appearance from a famous Hardball spot during the 2008 campaign with her presentation today. (The Hardball episode was famous because it was when she called Obama "very anti-American.")

Is this a retrograde sexist judgment? Overall presentation matters in politics, especially at the TV-based national level. It mattered that JFK looked better than Nixon in 1960, Reagan than Carter in 1980, Obama than McCain in 2008. It mattered that Dukakis looked the way he did in a tank in 1988. The change in Bachmann's presentation -- hair, makeup, styling in general -- tells me that she has thought about "raising her game," and in a much more sophisticated way than what we see in the evolution of Sarah Palin's appearance through that same period.

2) She showed that she is an absolute genius at the established political technique of "giving the answer you want to give, no matter what the question was." Schieffer reeled off a list of whopper-scale false claims she had made -- for instance, that Obama had approved "only one" offshore drilling permit, when in fact he'd approved hundreds. Her response, every time, was some variant on "the real question is why President Obama has misled us." Or, on policy: what specifically would she do to create jobs? "The real question is why President Obama has failed to create jobs." See for yourself from CBS's site.

I am not endorsing this as the ideal way to lead a public discourse, and you can't get away with it forever. (Schieffer closed the show with a manful for-the-record note that he had tried time and again to get answers to his questions about her falsehoods, and hadn't.) If you have only this one trick in your array of responses, eventually this will be what the press constantly harps on. But it is a part of a big-time politician's arsenal, and she showed that she knows how to use it.

When I say these are signs that she is serious, I don't mean that by my lights she suddenly has practical, plausible answers to the nation's problems. It means that her run could be more disciplined and professional than some other ill-starred long-shot campaigns we've seen recently.

The " MITT-O-MATIC"....

I think we need to fire the EMPTY SUIT presently in the White House and make sure we don't replace him with SLICK MITT, also a Empty Suit, just the pandering, flip-flopping, say anything to get elected type .......

Last thing we need is another President that has a shrew of a wife who will decide what we should say, do or eat....We have one of those now and the only thing that could be as bad as listening to Obama's Wife try to tell us how many bake sales we can have at a school (true - look it up if you don't believe me) is having Mrs. Slick Mitt lecturing us about what we can or can't do with our lives or families....If you have observed MITT & MRS. MITT operate, it's kinda creepy...almost like a reverse "Stepford Wives" effect....

SLICK MITT ROMNEY NEEDS TO " MAN UP"

This guy needs a serious case of "MAN UP"...

And he thinks he's going to be President????

Dude....turn in your " Man Cred"...you just forfieted any hope that you will be taken seriously among real men.

So how is a US MARINE or a NAVY SEAL going to take that this guy who wants to be President likes to read the TWILIGHT SERIES ??

Mitt Romney Is a Teenage Girl - NY Magazine

Many people wonder whether Americans will be comfortable voting for Mitt Romney despite his Mormon faith. Perhaps a more pertinent question is whether they will be comfortable voting for him knowing that he is actually a teenage girl.

"I like the Twilight series," Romney told the Today show in a discussion of the books he reads. "I thought that was fun."

If Romney were to win in 2012, he would be the first teenage girl in American history to serve as president. [Today/NBC]

Economic Issues hit the American Public hard and the reaction from our elected officials is more dithering.....

It is early June and as most know, the Summer months are the doldrums for US Businesses. Try landing a new management position with a company during June, July or August....You would have a better chance of finding the coastline of Afghanistan on the map. (Here's a hint - there is no coastline, it is a landlocked country)

The Senior Leaders of most companies are either off for 4-6 weeks of the summer period because they can be, or their Bosses are or both, and no major decisions are going to be made until after Labor Day. That means that overall, if you have a job, hang on to it and if you don't, take the Summer off as you will not likely be getting one over the next three months.

Let's look at some selected comments in the news and see if we as laymen can figure out what they are trying to say about state of the US Economy.....

" Wall Street is having a hard time figuring out what to do now that the U.S. economy appears to be sputtering and yields are so low, Peter Yastrow, market strategist for Yastrow Origer, told CNBC." - REALLY??!!?? REALLY Wall Street?? You can't figure why the American Consumer has been taking it in the neck for the past two+ years and we're at the point where most people have exhausted the abilty to try & keep ahead of rising costs to fuel, food, clothing and all other basics...Oh yeah, that's right, the thieves on Wall Street don't suffer from this issues as they have been helping themselves all along and screwing over the American public while they got "bailed out"....must be tough out there in the Hamptons this time of year....

Robert Reich comments on FT.COM - " The problem is not on the supply side of the ledger. Corporate profits are still healthy. Big companies continue to sit on a cash hoard. Large and middle-sized companies can easily borrow more, at low rates. The problem is on the demand side. American consumers, who constitute 70 per cent of the total economy, cannot and will not buy enough to get it moving. They justifiably worry that they will not be able to pay their bills, or afford to send their children to college, or to retire. Banks, with equal justification, are reluctant to lend to them. But as long as consumers hold back, companies remain reluctant to hire new workers or raise the wages of current ones, feeding the vicious cycle. " - No kidding, another genius...the guy isn't much of a politician but he understands the dynamics of present day American Consumers. The price of everything has been jacked to a level where people can't keep their heads above water. Savings are out the window too so we're not refilling the depleted savings which is where the "rainy day" fund comes from.

Reuters makes this report - " U.S. companies hired far fewer workers than expected in May and output in the manufacturing sector slowed to its lowest level since 2009, adding to concerns that the U.S. recovery is running out of steam.

Economists slashed their forecasts for Friday's payrolls report, considered the best barometer of the world's biggest economy, after private-sector job growth tumbled to just 38,000, its lowest level in eight months.

Wednesday's reports were the latest signals that economic growth remained sluggish in the second quarter after a weak start to 2011
" - NO KIDDING....my 15 year old daughter could have discerned this insight and still had time to watch an episode of GLEE....Companies are sitting on hordes of cash but not sharing the wealth by hiring more workers, providing affordable benefits and putting people back to work. Shocker. They like having us under the gun...2nd shocker.

Soooooooo....where does the leave us ?? With an " Empty Suit " in the White House, gridlock in the Congress and the American public hurting....and some wonder why a talented and bright HR professional like myself would seek employment in a WAR ZONE?? Maybe because right now, it is the one sector of the economy that is not showing a slow-down...The War doesn't take days off and I need to do the best for my family...relying on companies back home that offer scaled down wages & benefits ain't in my game plan....sorry, I'm too smart to keep taking what they are presently offering as there are better options... I wound up taking plan " B " and it has worked out well.

SLICK MITT makes his announcement later Thursday about wanting to be President...(YAWN)...whatever. You aren't going to be President even if you raise buckets of $$$ because no one wants you to be President. IF SLICK MITT is selected by the GOP to run against DOOFUS from Chicago, say hello to 2nd term President Obama....

Sarah " You Betcha " Palin played the media for the last few days like a Violin...big surprise. She is not a dummy regardless of what the Media may think ( I hesitate to use the words " Media" and "think" in close proximity for obvious reasons) She refuses to play by the established rules, akin to playing " Calvinball" (Those of you who don't understand the reference need to read Calvin & Hobbes) What to make of Sarah's efforts and what she is trying to accomplish is anyone's guess but I will tell you this, Sarah Palin gets more attention than anyone in the race for 2012 and that alone is a tactical advantage. Underestimate this lady at your own peril.....

The rest of the GOP field is a guessing game. We will have to see which one of these "mental midgets" sees themselves in the White House while looking through the delusional mirror.

In the meantime, you, me and the rest of the American public will watch the fools we elected help themselves first, ignore the problems until well after they have bitten us in the arse, ultimately to the detriment of all and our nation.

For two years + we have listened to Mr. Hopey-Changey lecture us about what we need to do to sacrifice, all the while he acts out a " Do as I say, not as I do" life for himself and his minions. We deserve better and the way to get that is to really look at who the GOP can line up against him as we were much better off under the past administration than we have been over the last two years....Gas was under $2 a gallon when GW BUSH left office and all other items (food, clothing, etc.) were also in a much more affordable place.

The only " HOPE " we have is that the GOP idjits offer us a " CHANGE " worth electing....Sad to say, it looks like we are going to be offered the difference between the present DEM " Donkey Crap" Sandwich or eating a GOP " Elephant Crap" Sandwich. Either way, not very appetizing or giving us much to look forward to.

The bottom line for the 2012 election will be the question, " Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago???"...like I said earlier, my 15 year old daughter could answer that one....

UPDATE - The NY TIMES seems to agree with my write-up....3rd shocker

Employment Data May Be the Key to the President’s Job
By BINYAMIN APPELBAUM - NY TIMES
Published: June 1, 2011

WASHINGTON — No American president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt has won a second term in office when the unemployment rate on Election Day topped 7.2 percent.

Seventeen months before the next election, it is increasingly clear that President Obama must defy that trend to keep his job.

Roughly 9 percent of Americans who want to go to work cannot find an employer. Companies are firing fewer people, but hiring remains anemic. And the vast majority of economic forecasters, including the president’s own advisers, predict only modest progress by November 2012.

The latest job numbers, due Friday, are expected to provide new cause for concern. Other indicators suggest the pace of growth is flagging. Weak manufacturing data, a gloomy reading on jobs in advance of Friday’s report and a drop in auto sales led the markets to their worst close since August, and those declines carried over into Asia Thursday.

But the grim reality of widespread unemployment is drawing little response from Washington. The Federal Reserve says it is all but tapped out. There is even less reason to expect Congressional action. Both Democrats and Republicans see clear steps to create jobs, but they are trying to walk in opposite directions and are making little progress.

Republicans have set the terms of debate by pressing for large cuts in federal spending, which they say will encourage private investment. Democrats have found themselves battling to minimize and postpone such cuts, which they fear will cause new job losses.

House Republicans told the president that they would not support new spending to spur growth during a meeting at the White House on Wednesday.

“The discussion really focused on the philosophical difference on whether Washington should continue to pump money into the economy or should we provide an incentive for entrepreneurs and small businesses to grow,” said Eric Cantor, the majority leader. “The president talked about a need for us to continue to quote-unquote invest from Washington’s standpoint, and for a lot of us that’s code for more Washington spending, something that we can’t afford right now.”

The White House, its possibilities constrained by the gridlock, has offered no new grand plans. After agreeing to extend the Bush-era tax cuts and reducing the payroll tax last December, the administration has focused on smaller ideas, like streamlining corporate taxation and increasing American exports to Asia and Latin America.

“It’s a very tough predicament,” said Jared Bernstein, who until April was economic policy adviser to Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. “Is there any political appetite for something that would resemble another large Keynesian stimulus? Obviously no. You can say that’s what we should do and you’d probably be right, but that’s pretty academic.”

More than 13.7 million Americans were unable to find work in April; most had been seeking jobs for months. Millions more have stopped trying. Their inability to earn money is a personal catastrophe; studies show that the chance of finding new work slips away with time. It is also a strain on their families, charities and public support programs.

The Federal Reserve, the nation’s central bank, has the means and the mandate to reduce unemployment by pumping money into the economy.

As financial markets nearly collapsed in 2008, the Fed unleashed a series of unprecedented programs, first to arrest the crisis and then to promote recovery, investing more than $2 trillion. The final installment, a $600 billion bond-buying program, ends in June.

Now, however, the leaders of the central bank say they are reluctant to do more. The Fed’s chairman, Ben S. Bernanke, said in April that more money might not increase growth, but there was a growing risk that it would accelerate inflation.

Congress charged the Fed in 1978 with minimizing unemployment and inflation. Those goals, however, are often in conflict, and the Fed has made clear that inflation is its priority. Fed officials argue in part that maintaining slow, steady inflation forms a basis for enduring economic expansion.

Eric S. Rosengren, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, said in a recent interview that the Fed had reached the limits of responsible policy.

Four of a kind.....Four narcissistic fools who believe their own PR

Maybe we should blame it on the full moon....maybe it is because too many of these idiots believe their own PR.....Either way, it seems that the idiots who want us to fawn all over them are in full season.....

DOPRAH, a.k.a the self imposed Queen of all Mediocrity had her final, final, final going away show in CHI-TOWN which involved many other celebrities telling the meglomanical talk show host how wonderful she is....she of course set this up for herself and scheduled all the people who would be there to fawn all over her...A tad bit Narcissistic, don't ya think? Whatever...PLEASE DOPRAH, just go away. Please...we are begging you....JUST.GO.AWAY

Then we have SLICK MITT ROMNEY who said he raised 10 Million dollars in a one night phone bank callathon just the other day...Must have been a compelling sales pitch, " Hi, I'm calling from the Mitt Romney Campaign office and if you don't donate some $$$, we'll just keep calling and calling and calling until you do....."

Likely those who were waterboarded at GITMO got off easier than having to listen to his drivel...Just like the speech he gave last week which was pretty much labeled "desperate" by anyone who saw it and those who see him for what he is, another narcissistic fool who believes his own image when he looks in the mirror. Mitt, just GO AWAY....we're begging you....You aren't going to be President of the United States, no matter how much money you stack up. And take Ann, your wife who is just as obnoxious as Obama's wife...They are a matched set, and just as delusional as their husbands.

POTUS came to Boston to garner more money from idiots who must not have a clue of how he really feels about them and the American Public....He looks down the end of his nose and sees us as " the unwashed masses ", unworthy of his greatness....Hold on, I just threw up in my mouth a little....POTUS needs to go away along with his BFF DOPRAH....Please, and take your cow of a wife with you.

Finally, we have the Governor of the State of Massachusetts, Deval " Spend-it-all" Patrick....POTUS' other BFF...and delusional fool. He got re-elected by all the folks in the state who are on state/federal assistance or are the last hold outs of the Liberals...The parts of the state that elected him have the highest dependency on state aid & federal handouts (Brockton, New Bedford, Fall River, Springfield, Boston, Cambridge, Lawrence, Lowell, etc.) His opponent, Charlie Baker garnered votes from all the suburbs and the other areas where people actually earn a paycheck, not simply line up for a handout....see a trend there?? If you don't believe me, look it up. It is a matter of record.

Governor Doofus also published a biography which isn't exactly doing so well....shocker.

Here is John Keller's take...He comments for WBZ-TV out of Boston....you can draw you own conclusion along with the citizens of Massachusetts who have heard enough from the "Empty Suit" sitting in the State House, pretending to care about the citizens, when just like POTUS, MITT and DOPRAH, he feels it is all about him....ugh. We need all four of these idiots to go away and what we need are some real leaders.
We need Leaders who can make a real difference and not just make it all about THEMSELVES.

Keller @ Large: Patrick Book Not Box Office Boffo
By John Keller - WBZ-TV

Gov. Deval Patrick’s memoir may be compelling. But it isn’t selling — at least, not selling well enough so far to justify the $1.3 million advance paid by Broadway Books for “A Reason to Believe: Lessons from an Improbable Life.”

The book was officially released on April
12, kicking off a media blitz including high-profile appearances on the “Today Show” and “The Daily Show.” Thirty-five days later, after a one-week-stand at #25 on the New York Times bestseller list and a one-week visit to the Boston Globe’s list, Nielsen Bookscan had logged 4,293 copies sold, according to data supplied by an industry source.

By comparison, in March, Politico noted that roughly a month after the release of his memoir, Sen. Scott Brown had a “disappointing” 15,534 copies sold, also according to Nielsen Bookscan, which monitors bookstore sales. (It’s not known how many copies were purchased by Brown himself for use as gifts to supporters and donors, a common industry practice that Patrick has so far eschewed, according to a spokesman for his campaign committee.)

With the national publicity tour behind him and only a sparse schedule of local appearances by the author still advertised on the Broadway Books website, the sales future of the book is uncertain. Says one high-placed executive in the publishing industry: “If I was the editor who paid $1.3M for a book that’s netted that many copies in its first month of publication, I’d be looking for a new job.”

SLICK MITT.....another fool in love with his own PR and who envisions himself as President

I have serious reservations about anyone who would mistreat an animal, especially man's best friend, the family dog.

Well SLICK MITT Romney did just that on a family trip where he had to find room for all the items needed and decided that he could place the Family's Dog Kennel on the roof of the station wagon for a family trip.....The report from TIME Magazine is enclosed below.....

Sorry, if you show so little care for the family dog, I seriously question your judgement on all things especially being qualified for the Presidency of the United States. Obama is not the guy I want in the Oval Office either but SLICK MITT Romney is just as bad....they are a pair of Feckless Idiots who are in love with themselves and care very little about the rest of us.

Romney's Cruel Canine Vacation
By ANA MARIE COX - Time Magazine

The reporter intended the anecdote that opened part four of the Boston Globe's profile of Mitt Romney to illustrate, as the story said, "emotion-free crisis management": Father deals with minor — but gross — incident during a 1983 family vacation, and saves the day. But the details of the event are more than unseemly — they may, in fact, be illegal.

The incident: dog excrement found on the roof and windows of the Romney station wagon. How it got there: Romney strapped a dog carrier — with the family dog Seamus, an Irish Setter, in it — to the roof of the family station wagon for a twelve hour drive from Boston to Ontario, which the family apparently completed, despite Seamus's rather visceral protest.

Massachusetts's animal cruelty laws specifically prohibit anyone from carrying an animal "in or upon a vehicle, or otherwise, in an unnecessarily cruel or inhuman manner or in a way and manner which might endanger the animal carried thereon." An officer for the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals responded to a description of the situation saying "it's definitely something I'd want to check out." The officer, Nadia Branca, declined to give a definitive opinion on whether Romney broke the law but did note that it's against state law to have a dog in an open bed of a pick-up truck, and "if the dog was being carried in a way that endangers it, that would be illegal." And while it appears that the statute of limitations has probably passed, Stacey Wolf, attorney and legislative director for the ASPCA, said "even if it turns out to not be against the law at the time, in the district, we'd hope that people would use common sense...Any manner of transporting a dog that places the animal in serious danger is something that we'd think is inappropriate...I can't speak to the accuracy of the case, but it raises concerns about the judgment used in this particular situation."

Ingrid Newkirk, president of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, was less circumspect. PETA does not have a position on Romney's candidacy per se, but Newkirk called the incident "a lesson in cruelty that was ... wrong for [his children] to witness...Thinking of the wind, the weather, the speed, the vulnerability, the isolation on the roof, it is commonsense that any dog who's under extreme stress might show that stress by losing control of his bowels: that alone should have been sufficient indication that the dog was, basically, being tortured." Romney, of course, has expressed support for the use of "enhanced interrogation" techniques when it comes to terrorists; his campaign refused to comment about the treatment of his dog.

As organizer of the Salt Lake City Olympic Games, Romney came under fire from some animal welfare groups for including a rodeo exhibition as part of the Games' festivities. At the time, he told protesters, "We are working hard to make this as safe a rodeo for cowboys and animals as is humanly possible."

But what I meant to say was......Slick Mitt is at it again

The guy is soooooo desperate and it shows.....Mitt Romney maybe an OK person but he is NOT the LEADER we need as his style of leadership is all POL, all the time.....

We need LEADERSHIP and so far, trading " Barry from Chicago" for Slick Mitt would be bad....We need to get rid of both of these fools and find some real Leadership to help us out.....the problem is that person has yet to be found.....2012 election cycle is here and we have no real Leaders....

Romney learns even op-eds not safe
By Glen Johnson, Boston Globe Staff

Live by the op-ed, die by the op-ed.

Expected Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney learned that today, when he made an apparent gaffe in what has become the favored form of communication in his carefully choreographed pre-campaign run-up: the newspaper op-ed column.

The former Massachusetts governor found that when you virtually limit your media exposure to written columns, as opposed to unrestricted media questions, you can control your message — but you also leave no one else to blame when there's trouble.

In a piece for the New Hampshire Union Leader, Romney again excoriated President Obama for Standard & Poor's announcing that it was changing its long-term view for US treasuries from "stable to "negative."

While the rating agency retained the country's AAA bond rating, Romney jumped on its warning (which, incidentally, was directed at both to the White House and Congress).

"Barack Obama is facing a financial emergency on a grander scale," he wrote. "Yet his approach has been to engage in one of the biggest peacetime spending binges in American history. With its failed stimulus package, its grandiose new social programs, its fervor for more taxes and government regulations, and its hostility toward business, the administration has made the debt problem worse, hindered economic recovery and needlessly cost American workers countless jobs."
