BLOGGER.COM is not working properly so I apologize for the way this looks....
When Puppies Attack !!
Yeah, you never know when dangerous things are going to happen over here in AFGHN - Like being muddied and licked to death by a pack of killer puppies !!!! These pups are in training to provide security for where we stay and I happened upon them and their handler walking acorss the grounds. These guys got me muddy and smelling like puppy slobber.... It was wonderful for a guy who misses his pup at home.....
Meanwhile, a few of our protective angels were passing overhead in AH-64 Apache Longbow Attack Helicopters..... AWESOME and exactly what an old Seabee like me loves to see. Sometimes things here are not all that bad. If I can just get the next few weeks knocked off........ 36 days until my break !!

Middleboro Jones and the next great adventure
Jones: " Why don't you come down here and find out..."
It seems that I have found my services requested for another adventure off to the distant parts of the globe. The economy is driving this more than a pursuit for the Ark of the Covenant or chasing nefarious villains. The economic forces have created a bit of a perfect storm where my skill set has more value over there than here at home.
This will limit the posting I can accomplish until I arrive and get situated later this week. Posting while in transit is possible but sometimes difficult. Like any adventure, there will be high points and low points...traveling to the "dusty" side of the globe is always an adventure...
Brody: Marion's the least of your worries right now, believe me, Indy.
Brody: Well, I mean that for nearly three thousand years man has been searching for the lost ark. It's not something to be taken lightly. No one knows its secrets. It's like nothing you've ever gone after before.

Change in Venue....On the road to Afghanistan again.....
Your kind host here at US NAVY JEEP will be making less "decisive" posts over the next few weeks.....I am "in transit " as they say.
I am going through an INDOC for new employment in Afghanistan. I have the IPAD with me and some local Wi-Fi where I am but I am unable to gather info and pics like I have over the last year or so....Note to Steve Jobs - I like your product BUT not being able to use some of the Blogspot functions as they aren't accessible via Safari.....Not making me happy....
I will be able to post more regularly once I have got to where I am going to be located and I have passed through the process of getting from here (USA) to there (AFGHN)
Keep checking in and I plan on posting some info as possible......I appreciate your feedback and checking in when you do.

Middleboro Jones decides not to become a permanent addition to this archaeological find....

(Katanga meets Middleboro Jones, who is dirty and injured from his travels around Afghanistan)
Katanga: Mr. Jones! I've heard a lot about you, sir. Your appearance is exactly the way I imagined
After traveling around Afghanistan, I know how my counterpart, Indiana feels.....
The way things fall in place are both amazing and a never-ending mystery.....
I wound up in Afghanistan due to the down economy and a lay off......I was lucky to find a good company that has provided a great place to work, great people and very positive leadership. I couldn't be happier except for the aspect of wakiing up 7500 miles away from my home.....that part was NOT something I could ever be happy with.....
So Middleboro Jones has managed to work his way out of trouble again....not real trouble mind you, the trouble of waking up 7500 miles away from home......
I will be "escaping" Kandahar, Helmand Province and the whole Afghanistan AOR by the end of the month.....
I have accepted a job back in Boston for a very good company and I couldn't be happier....I will miss my coworkers and the company BUT I will not miss waking up in Afghanistan....Thank You very much.....
I have given a proper 2 week notice and will be making the arrangements I need to head home....The way this all happened was quite interesting as if I wasn't delayed from returning by weather, i wouldn't have been able to meet with one of the key people......Guess it was meant to be.....
As for plans, my plan is to head home and to be the best HR person I can for the new company.....as for the rest....It's just like the scene where the Nazis are trying to take the Ark away from Tannis.....
Sallah: Indy, you have no time. If you still want the ark, it is being loaded onto a truck for Cairo.
Indiana: Truck? What truck?
(As they watch the Nazis loading the Ark of the Covenant onto a large truck)
Indiana: Meet me at Omar's. Be ready for me. I'm going after that truck.
Sallah: How?
Indiana: I don't know, I'm making this up as I go

Cigar Break
Sometimes things get hectic but then sometimes things work out for the better....a nice day in AFGHN and a good chance for "Middleboro Jones" to enjoy a cigar.....
A good friend supplied a great CAO Brazillia...a fine smoke indeed.... sometimes the perks of this job in the Sandbox are good. This was one of those times. Between the non-stop air-show we get treated to and the cigar break, it was a damn fine day.
