On the road.....

As previously mentioned, I am on an adventure of sorts.  Bought a 1974 VW Bus in Seattle and I'm taking her cross country back to Boston.  Something I have always wanted to do (Drive Cross the USA) and part of getting the right vehicle.

Have had a few hiccups - Fuel Pump went in Spokane, WA - That delayed me a day but found a shop with great mechanics.  Had to replace 2 front tires after road damage on Rt 16 leaving Mt. Rushmore ....These things happen on a 3000 mile drive in 40 yr old vehicle.

Every where I go, she's the "Rock Star" as all anyone wants to talk about is her, I'm just the entourage.  This VW Bus attracts attention everywhere we go.....

I'll post pics later once I get home .  Trying to get there sometime Saturday......Inshalla

Greetings from Qatar

Hanging out here in Qatar with the USAF......in transit and awaiting a ride to AFGHN via MILAIR. I got here via Qatari Airways and the service was awesome......If you have to travel overseas, I highly recommend Qatari Airways....

The base here is not too bad and the troops have most of the comforts of home.....PX, 24 hour a day DFAC, Subway, Pizza Hut, access to WIFI, etc. The weather has been cloudy and we were greeted with at thunderstorm upon arrival late on Saturday.

All is well and the accommodations are basic.....sharing a large tent with about 20 others but one makes the best of what is provided.

Hope all is well where you are. I'm able to report that America's finest, your military, are here and doing an awesome job. The separation from home is the toughest part for all but we'll make the best of it until we can get some R&R.

Change in Venue....On the road to Afghanistan again.....

Your kind host here at US NAVY JEEP will be making less "decisive" posts over the next few weeks.....I am "in transit " as they say.

I am going through an INDOC for new employment in Afghanistan. I have the IPAD with me and some local Wi-Fi where I am but I am unable to gather info and pics like I have over the last year or so....Note to Steve Jobs - I like your product BUT not being able to use some of the Blogspot functions as they aren't accessible via Safari.....Not making me happy....

I will be able to post more regularly once I have got to where I am going to be located and I have passed through the process of getting from here (USA) to there (AFGHN)

Keep checking in and I plan on posting some info as possible......I appreciate your feedback and checking in when you do.
