Back in the Day....James Garner has a thing for fast cars....especially Corvettes
Must be the nature of the day that I am interested in historical items...there's a reason for that but for now it will remain under wraps....Take a look at this - James Garner is famous for his acting but is also a Korean War veteran and enjoyed racing fast cars, including Corvettes. He drove the pace cars at the 59th Indianapolis 500 (May 25, 1975), the 61st Indianapolis 500 (May 29, 1977), and at the 69th Indianapolis 500 (May 26, 1985). Here are some pictures I found online that show James Garner tearing it up, back in the day. He owned a Chevy Dealership and that must have made it easy for him to get access to the Muscle cars of the Day, especially the 1968 Corvette...wow. Must have been fun.

A different time, a different place, a different country...
Take a look at this short video and remember....A different time, a different place, a different country
Our Country has been arguing about how decisive politics are and how things are more angry than they have ever been before.....
Think back and remember that time....It would be hard to find a more angry time in our country's history than 1968...We had the loss of Martin Luther King, The Democratic Convention in Chicago, Kent State and then the loss of Senator Bobby Kennedy in June 1968...
The Democrats today are not the Democratic party of John and Bobby Kennedy...Back in the day, the Democrats took on Organized Crime, believed in a strong Defense and were not looking to increase the Federal debt as they tried to lower the tax burden as increasing it was an economic drain....
The loss of Senator Kennedy brought the country to a place where the fighting stopped and citizens responded.....in this moving tribute, you see how they turned out to honor Senator Kennedy as his remains were moved from LA to Virgina via train....His countrymen paid tribute by meeting his train as it passed...
This is more of what our country should be all about...It was a simpler time and we were in some ways, a better people as this kind of tribute would be unlikely to happen today no matter who we lost....
