The question of the day

Here's a question to toss around your head and see if you can come up with an answer.

Gen. Stanley McChrystal was "fired" last year for speaking frankly to Rolling Stone magazine about how he felt about the political issues and challenges of his position as Senior Commander in Afghanistan.

The NATO and American commander in Afghanistan, Gen. John R. Allen, announced in a news release on Saturday that he was dismissing Maj. Gen. Peter Fuller, the deputy commander for programs at the NATO training mission in Afghanistan, effective immediately. “The decision follows recent inappropriate public comments made by Major General Fuller,” General Allen said.

So we have two senior military leaders who were asked to leave due to making remarks that embarrassed our allies and brought dishonor to the US, if you feel that what they said reached that level.

If that is the standard, why is the President allowed to make similar remarks about Israel and there is no ramification for his actions?? His remarks caused an equal amount of dishonor to the US but he is not held to the same standard. By any standard, he should have apologized and shown remorse for his blatant stupidity.

Just a issue for you to review but one that shows that we hold our military to a higher standard than our POLS and then wonder why our military is the best and our POLS are among the worst.
